For those who suffer with fibromyalgia, we all know that getting a good sleep is key to managing our condition. Often, insomnia can interfere with our ability to get a good night’s sleep. Dr. Gardner will present tips and tools to make sleep better.

BIO: Dr. David Gardner, BSc Pharm, ACPR, PharmD, MSc (CH&E) 

Dr. David Gardner is a Professor and the Community Psychiatry Research Director with the Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine at Dalhousie University and a member of the Canadian Sleep Research Consortium. He is an executive member of the Canadian Medication Appropriateness and Deprescribing Network and chair of the Public Awareness committee of the Ontario-based Older Adults Insomnia Collaborative. With training in pharmacy, community health, and epidemiology from the University of Toronto, UBC, and Dalhousie, his work focuses on improving mental health care through research, education, and implementation. Dr. Gardner is co-developer of the Sleepwell research and knowledge mobilization program (mysleepwell.ca) and was the lead investigator on the Your Answers When Needing Sleep in New Brunswick study (YAWNS NB). Recognized by CAMH as one of Canada’s 150 Difference Makers in Mental Health, his research spans insomnia management, pharmacoepidemiology, psychotropic medication safety, and enhancing community-based mental health services.
